Since the 20th August 2011 the concrete ghettoblaster; Slepebrøler has been on display in the Tøyen area in Oslo allowing the public to connect their mobile sound devices to the sound system through a 3,5,mm TRS jack to play their music. Enjoy!

As the result of my most fortunate participation in a fleamarket auction I am now the proud owner of approx. 95g of nerdy bliss; a Radio-Voltmeter manufactured by Josef Neuberger in München around 1930.

above:Supports measuring of voltage up to 120V through its frayed test lead!

Now all I need is a nickel-plated chain and tracksuit!

Don`t worry about those high pitched noises that you hear constantly, its probably just a Perdixophone concert in the apartment next door!

In the autumn of 2010 I participated in the Grundtvig workshop CREAS:Creating Sound in new media held at the Tempol Reale - Center for Music Production, Research and Education in Firenzel, Italy. Stayed at a nice little family run hotel and as you might suspect the photo below is from the breakfast table where I in my inattentiveness suddenly realized that a version of Tatlin`s Tower had emerged from the scraps on the table.

Below: Model of the original Tatlin Tower, a monumental work of architecture envisioned in 1920 by the Russian constructivist Vladimir Tatlin. The Tower was to be a kinetic structure made from iron, glass and steel transporting spectators up the twin helix spiraling to a height of 400m. The tower was supposed to be built in Petrograd (St.Petersburg), unfortunately this never happened.

The magnificent sunny weather on the 30th july demanded an excursion into the wild.

Above:A spinning gate on our path.

Above:Modernized aquaduct that initially was set up by the romans.

Above: On our way we stumbled upon Romainmotiers local winery that also used to be a distillery, however the distillation is nowadays done in a different location.

Above:Barrels with fermenting cherries soon to be distilled into Kirschwasser – a 40% fruit brandy.

Above:On our request the owner of the winery kindly invited us to have a look at facilities.

Above:One our stops was at this waterfall. Behold the power of nature!

And finally:On our way back to Romainmotier, we visited a tiny motorcycle museum in a garage stuffed with motorcycles and related paraphernalia.
Arrived 28.july in Romainmotier, Switzerland, to participate in Hackterialab 2011. During a week approximately 30 participants from Switzerland, India, Slovenia, Usa, Finland, Germany, Japan, Norway and other countries are gathered for a week of experimentation with open source biological art projects. An article on this field also called bioelectronix may be read here.
The lab is taking place in the white beige building on the left, nice!

My concrete ghettoblaster titled “Slepebrøler” in Norwegian is soon to be ready for display at the exhibition (DIS)Placement in the Tøyen area in Oslo opening the 20th of august! (DIS)Placement is an exhibition directed and curated by Skulpturarena Øst.

Above:Concrete ghettoblaster with alumium membranes. So far the frequency response of the membranes results in a treble on the verge of being intolerable, however this will soon be mended with a passive eq.

Above:Converted mailbox serves as cabinet for various electronics and car battery powering the ghettoblaster. As a hopefully not futile attempt at theft protection the cabinet has been fitted with padlocks and strengthened with blindrivets eventually looking more and more like Harry Houdinis lunchbox.
The ascent to Årbostadtindens 1181 meters above sea level was a rather demanding with a strong sensation of the the previous days expedition to Drangen still in my legs. Nonetheless the project was fulfilled with yet another bronzebolt and plaque attached to the mountaintop.

The first day of mounting my project Fjellseilas at the mountaintop Drangen in Ibestad municipality was a success with the following results:

Above: A bronze bolt drilled and wedged into the mountain.

Above:Plaque with information about the project.
Translation: ”This mountain is moving. As a result of the eurasian continental plates movement. It is participating in a contest between two geographical points marked in the mountains Årbostadtinden and Drangen. The mountain which point is first to cross the finish line defined as a circle with a diameter of 20km and center at 68°50’52.19″N 17°11’42.05″Ø will be the winner of the competition.”

Above:The artist evidently pleased with the placing of the work.
